PREGNANCY - *37 weeks with baby #2*

(this update's a little late... but better than never right?!)

How far along: 37 weeks -- FULL TERM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gender: BOY!

Total weight gain so far: 38lbs

Feeling: Like labor could happen at any time now. I've had severe "nesting" this last week, I finished his nursery (well... we still need curtains, but that's it!!), as well as cleaned like every other room in our house...nesting at it's best. I'm to the point where I have weekly doctor appointments, but this next week I'm skipping- due to Thanksgiving. So I'm already SUPER anxious for my next doctor appointment, when I'll be a little over 38 weeks to check and see if I'm dilated at all!

Movement: He still is a mover in there! His movements are way more cramped now, but he still loves to stretch out and stick his bum out one way and his feet way out on the other side of my belly. He also loves to kick me in the ribs every night... can't even be mad at him for this 'cause I love feeling him move around in there, and I know I don't have much longer!!

Contractions: HOLY CONTRACTIONS!!! I get them all the time. Yesterday I actually had contractions ALL DAY. None of them were very strong, or close enough together for me to worry about actual labor, but there were a couple times I wondered if labor was about to happen! My body is doing some serious prepping! I also get a few painful contractions that wake me up every night. I have a feeling labor with this little guy will go quick.... we'll see!!

Best moment this week:
I packed my hospital bag, and it was surreal. This time around I had a better idea of what I actually would use at the hospital. It was fun packing his little outfits, hats, and socks too... I just still can't believe we're so close to meeting him!!

PREGNANCY - 36 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 36 weeks

Gender: BOY!

Total weight gain so far: 38lbs

Feeling: I feel like the end of this pregnancy is really, really creeping up on me! I can't believe I'm only 1 week away from full term (WHAT?!!).

Movement: Little man LOVES to stretch his bum out one way, and shove his little feet out way on the other side of my belly... and this one  sometimes gets painful! He's a strong little guy! At night, he always gets his feet up under my ribs! I know I'll miss feeling all his little movements. He still gets hiccups at least 3-4 times a day.

Contractions: I get contractions all the time during the day... my body is really starting to practice for the big day!

Best moment this week:
I'm going through all of Gavin's old baby clothes, and hanging them up for this little guy to wear. It's so sweet seeing all of my old favorite outfits and shirts that Gavin wore when he was a baby. It's exciting to know soon I'll be putting them on this little man... but also bittersweet that my little Gavin is already so big, and continuing to grow up so fast on me!

PREGNANCY - 34 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 34 weeks

Baby's name: starts with a J ;)

Gender: BOY!

Total weight gain so far: 35 lbs

Feeling: I feel great! I feel like my belly isn't quite as big this time around, but when I compare photos from this same point in pregnancy with Gavin, it's about the same size! With Gavin, my belly got massive at about 38 weeks and continued to get even more massive right up until he made his arrival. So I'm guessing the same will happen this time around. ;)
I've been sleeping better at night too lately, which seems backwards. I wake up every time I roll from side to side, just because my low back gets so sore at night. It doesn't bother me much during the day anymore, which also seems backwards... usually things are starting to feel worse and worse during the 3rd trimester! I'm hoping I continue feeling this awesome for these last 6 weeks of pregnancy! ...I know the last few weeks are usually tough though... so we'll see!

Movement: This little guy moves around all the time! He's super active! He's head down, with his tush on one side of my belly and feet on the other. He likes to stretch out, which sometimes is almost painful! His little foot will stick out of the side of my belly, and his butt out the other! It looks so funny! He also gets hiccups at least a couple times a day. I just LOVE all of his movements... I know I'll miss it, so I try to soak it all in the best I can! Even the painful jabs and kicks ;)

Contractions: I get a lot of Braxton hicks contractions throughout the day. I've been getting them for a couple months now. Some of them are getting pretty strong and uncomfortable, so that's a good sign! ...my body is practicing and gearing up for the big day!!! eeeek!

Best moment this week: This past weekend Aaron had a conference at a water park only about an hour and a half away from home, so one of the nights Gavin and I went and stayed there. Gavin absolutely LOVED the water park! He was going down slides, running around, just having a blast! It was also my birthday that weekend, so it was a great way to spend it!! We all had so much fun! I just couldn't get over how old Gavin looked :( He's growing up so fast! It was nice to have a super fun little trip with just us and Gavin, because soon, we'll have a baby brother tagging along everywhere!!

PREGNANCY- 32 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 32 weeks... ONLY 8 WEEKS TO GO!?!?!

Baby's name: starts with a J ;)

Gender: BOY!

Total weight gain so far: 34.6 lbs

Feeling: I feel exhausted! But at the same time it's like I have supermom powers, because I want to be doing as much as possible with Gavin while I can! I think it's really hitting me that A: winter is coming and we will be stuck inside for the next 5 months, and B: baby is coming, and life is going to get turned upside down for awhile. So I'm trying to do as much as I can with Gavin while it's easy to get out, and while it's just me and him. Also, everything is starting to get harder... a lot harder... like putting on socks, trimming my toenails is nearly impossible, shaving, getting out of bed, sleeping... I'm starting to remember what the 3rd trimester is really like again... ;)

Cravings: I feel like I went a couple weeks where I had some serious cravings, nothing weird or crazy, but I would really want something (broccoli, cauliflower, cookies...) and this past week now I feel like I didn't have any sort of cravings! My "cravings" seem to come and go, and they're usually cravings for veggies or sweets...one or the other...

Movement: Wow, this little boy is SO STRONG! He kicks and pushes his feet out one side and his butt out the other, and man sometimes it kind of hurts! Which makes me nervous knowing he has 8 more weeks of growing left to do still!!... At night a lot of times I wake up to his feet up in my ribs...like literally, under my lower ribs. I LOVE all of his movements, even the somewhat painful ones, but yikes, I think he's going to be one big, strong baby!

Best moment this week: I finished painting little man's room!!!! It was SO awesome to get that room cleaned up, and start bringing furniture in! I repurposed a desk into what will be a changing table and I set up his crib!!! (I set that mother trucker up BY MYSELF! I felt so accomplished... well, Gavin "helped" me, which was pretty darn cute too). I've just LOVED getting back to working on his room, it's so much fun. I can't wait to have it put all together :)

PREGNANCY- 30 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 30 weeks

Baby's name: starts with a J ;)

Gender: BOY

Total weight gain so far: 30lbs. I'm gaining almost the exact same weight I did with Gavin! I gained exactly 40 lbs with Gavin, so I'm curious to see what it is this time around!

Cravings: SWEETS!!!...and still cauliflower... for the last like 6 weeks I've been doing so good on not craving sweets. All of a sudden this last week, all I want is Burger King chocolate chip cookies, brownies, cake, Oreos... it's horrible. Thankfully, I've been able to stay strong and say no, but I did give in once and go through the Burger King drive-thru and order some cookies. I. Had. To.!!!!

Movement: Nothing new here, baby boy still moves around like a wild man. Now that he's bigger, it's feels like more of the "rolling"/"sliding" sensation, but he still kicks and jabs like crazy too. Loving every second of it! He also gets hiccups a couple times a day- just like his big brother did! So that's cute :) Not so cute is when he must kick or head-butt my bladder- there have been some close calls there...little man is strong, and my poor bladder must literally be only about the size of an acorn... so ya....

Looking forward to: It's supposed to be beautiful Fall weather this weekend, so I'm really looking forward to spending as much time outside enjoying the fresh, Fall air! October is also my favorite month of the year, it could be because it's my birthday month ;) so I'm excited for October! ...although I also can't believe it's already OCTOBER! Holy cow- where is the time going?!?!

PREGNANCY- 29 weeks with baby #2

This pregnancy update is late... oops! And the bump picture is pretty pathetic this week, I know. It's the best I had since I haven't taken my official "bump" picture. hashtag slacker.

p.s. the leggings are from Motherhood Maternity, and could quite possibly be my favorite maternity clothing purchase yet. They literally feel like I'm wearing no pants... which is freaking AWESOME!... since I'm all about comfort. Oh, and they're super adorable! I snagged a couple different pairs when they were on sale for only $10!

How far along: 29 weeks

Baby's name: starts with a J ;)

Gender: BOY

Cravings: broccoli & cauliflower... STILL!

Movement: Baby boy is officially big/strong enough that I've had a couple painful kicks/jabs already! Which makes me nervous for the next 11 weeks to come, as he only gets bigger and stronger! YIKES!

Miss Anything: Sleeping through the night. I can't remember the last time I slept an entire night without waking up. I wake up every time I roll from side to side. I also REALLY miss being able to have Gavin lay in my lap, or on my chest... I remind myself it's only a couple more months, and then it will be back to normal, and I'll have my TWO babies laying on me!

Looking forward to: Finishing the nursery! It has been SO hard to find the time to work on this little guys room! It's definitely not that I don't want to, it's just been impossible to find the time to get away and DO IT! I only have a tiny bit of touch up painting to do, then it gets easier because it's just brining in furniture, decorating... etc. I'm also getting excited for washing all of the adorable baby clothes!!! ...and soon I'll be packing another hospital bag!! eeek!... so surreal!

PREGNANCY - 28 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 28 weeks! HELLO 3RD TRIMESTER!!!!!

Baby's name: starts with a J ;)

Gender: BOY

Cravings: broccoli & cauliflower... steamed or roasted. I kind of want to eat this with every meal lately...

Best moment this week: Nothing out of the ordinary- just enjoying the fall weather, trips to the orchard, and all things FALL! Trying to make sure I soak up all my time with it just being me and Gavin... soon we'll have another little boy around!

Movement: So much movement! This little guy loves to totally contort my belly into the strangest shape... it's really alien-like sometimes, so funny!

Miss Anything: Being able to move and bend like I could without a baby belly- even just simple things like having Gavin swing on my lap, is pretty much not possible anymore, which is kind of sad :(

Looking forward to: We start having doctor appointments every 2 weeks now... which makes it even MORE real!!

PREGNANCY - 25 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 25 weeks

Baby's name: starts with a J ;)

Gender: BOY

Best moment this week: We had Gavin's birthday party last weekend - which was so fun! He was crabby for about the first half of it... "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to" seemed to be his theme song for the day! Oh well, he can get away with that for a little while yet. ;) It was still a super fun day, and once presents came into the picture he was happy as could be! It was also fun to have the family over so they could all see our new house, which we're almost totally settled into!

Movement: Little man is a mover in there! I love it! I have a feeling he will be as active as his big brother is...

Miss Anything: Sleeping on my stomach. I really, really, really miss that... :( And when I roll over in bed to see Aaron peacefully sleeping on his stomach, I miss it even more!

Looking forward to: A long over due, RELAXING weekend!!! yay! Not even going to let myself do any of the projects I want to!!! (a diy shiplap headboard, fall wood decor....sounds so enticing, but forcing myself to just lay low and relax!)
I had to throw this pic in here from today also...
this bump is just getting crazy! I can't believe I have another 15 weeks of growing this baby yet to do.... (um yikes)
....and in other exciting news, today I finally got a hair cut after over a year and a half without one! YIKES!
hashtag momlife.

PREGNANCY - 24 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 24 weeks

Baby's name: We finally decided on a name! BUT... we're keeping it a secret until he's born :) Hint, it starts with a "J".

Gender: BOY

Best moment this week: Working on the nursery! I love being able to watch the room slowly come together! It's also a huge plus to be done with the painting and onto the fun stuff like picking furniture and decor!!

Cravings: anything healthy. I think my sweet tooth kind of over ruled me for awhile these past few weeks, so recently I've really been craving healthy foods, and less sugar. It's a miracle!

Movement: This little boy has really picked up the pace in there. He moves around SO much! Every night he usually gets a little crazy in there, and I love it!

Miss Anything: I really miss having a not-sore back! My low back has really been bothering me, I think I just overdid it with the move about a  month ago, because since then my poor back has been really sore. Even having a chiropractor for a husband only does so much when you're pregnant :/ I've also reached the point where my belly makes it slightly more difficult to paint my toenails, and shave my legs. Yay pregnancy...

Looking forward to: Our doctor appointment this week! For no reason in particular, I just love going to the baby appointments! I love hearing that little heartbeat :)
I'm also really hoping for a boost in energy...that would be just fantastic since the past few days I have felt like I'm literally just dragging myself around to do anything. I sleep like a rock (for the most part) at night, but wake up feeling tired, and continue feeling that way throughout the day until I go to bed. Ugh! Baby must really be growing, because he's stealing all of his mamas energy!!

PREGNANCY - 23 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 23 weeks

Baby's name: We finally decided on a name! BUT... we're keeping it a secret until he's born :)

Gender: BOY

Best moment this week: I finished a project I've been dying to do........ that I'll be sharing a tutorial post for soon!!!... It's a giant, 3'x5' magnetic chalkboard in our playroom! I didn't have a tutorial to follow, since I had entirely my own idea on what to use and how to do it. I was nervous how it would turn out, but it is AWESOME! I'm so happy with it, and it's finished and curing as we speak! SO HAPPY! I can't wait to share it with you!

Cravings: still just banana pancakes...

Miss Anything: Red's Apple Ale. We had some family over for a mini-swim party, and I really missed being able to sit outside in the sun and enjoy a Reds, like everybody else. #boo. I also miss having swimsuit bottoms that actually fit.....

Looking forward to: Aaron is taking Gavin home to his parent's for the weekend, and I'm staying home to finish the million little things we still need to get done from the move! I'm also going to have a girls weekend with my sister and mom, who will help me with all my little projects - one of them being painting the baby's room!!! YAY! So I'm actually excited for a lot this weekend, it will be a super productive weekend, but also fun since I get to spend quality time with my mom and sister! yayy!!

Pregnancy - 22 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 22 weeks

Gender: BOY

Sleep: Sleeping really well! As long as I have my pillow between the legs! Makes such a difference with helping me get a good night's sleep!

Best moment this week: I started painting little baby boy's room!! (photos to come) I am SO excited to get his nursery put together!

Worst moment this week: We're closing on our old house this Friday, the 5th! Which is SO bittersweet... but it's been SO busy with getting everything out of there (all the little things we left behind from the "big" move a couple weeks ago) and then with doing a final cleaning... I feel like I'm about 9 months pregnant. HOLY low back pain and round ligament pain... This mama needs more relax-on-the-couch-time!!!!

Cravings: Banana Pancakes (guys, the seriousness of this craving is so bad... I want these every morning!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhh!)

Miss Anything: Wine. Reds Apple Ale. The amount of wine and Reds that would have been consumed by myself in this past month is a scary thought... after all of our crazy, hectic, sweaty, busy, run around, do this, do that, go back to finish this, then that... what I would give to finally come home at night, plop on the couch, and guzzle an overflowing bottle glass of wine... So maybe it's a good thing I'm pregnant and can't drink....

Looking forward to: Closing on our house and being done with all the crazy back and forth work between old house / new house. I'm also looking forward to getting back to work on the nursery... once my poor pregnant body is back into "get er done work mode"... which may be awhile...

PREGNANCY - 21 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 21 weeks

Gender: BOY

Sleep: Sleeping decent- my low back gets pretty sore by the end of the day, so I'm already taking advantage of the pillow between the legs while I sleep. That's a staple in both my pregnancies so far!

Best moment this week: I went to a country music festival, which was super fun, and a super needed break for Mama! ;) It was also Aaron & I's anniversary last Thursday, so we had some fun celebrating that at the festival! We've been so busy with moving into the new house, every day life is kind of just a whirlwind lately. Also this little boy has become SO active! The other night at 3:30am, I could not fall back asleep because he was moving around like a wild man!! I love it! It's such a reassuring feeling, when you feel them bopping all around in there, it's a simple sigh of relief that, yes, everything's ok in there.

Worst moment this week: I've been exhausted lately! Gavin has been more energetic than ever, I think since we've been in a new house for the past week and a half. The music festival was a great "getaway" for me (although it shouldn't even be considered a getaway, I was only gone 3 evenings for it...) but it left me SO TIRED. This past week, come about 6:30pm, this mama is already ready for bed....

Cravings: Banana pancakes. I could eat these every single morning, and if it weren't for Aaron picking on me already for how often I eat them... I totally would.

Looking forward to: Buying paint for baby boy's nursery!!!! I can't wait to start working on another baby's room! eeeeeek!

PREGNANCY - 20 weeks with baby #2

Ignore the "over 21" bracelet... we had a country music festival all weekend that we went
to, and if I wanted to be able to go where everyone else went, I needed the bracelet.
My mugs of water were super delicious all weekend though.... #joysofpregnancy.

How far along: 20 weeks.

Gender: BOY!!!!!!!!

Total pregnancy weight gain so far: 7.4 lbs

Best moment this week: Definitely finding out that we are having another BOY! We are so, so, so excited! I'm a bit nervous to be a mama of 2 little boys... my hands will be full, but I'm so ready for the challenge! Our 20 week ultrasound went really well, baby looks cute as ever, and healthy! Also, feeling more movement, and bigger movements. There's almost nothing I love more during pregnancy, than feeling that baby kicking and moving all around! LOVE IT!

Miss Anything: Being able to have a jack n coke while watching country music bands!!! It's just not the same going to a music festival (where we get free drinks!), and sipping on water all day and night. Oh well, totally worth it in the long run!! ;) ...and we go every year... so next year, I get to make up for it!

Looking forward to: Designing and decorating a BOY nursery again!

it's a...

BOY!!!!

gender reveal its a boy

We are SO excited to be having another boy!
I won't lie- I'm nervous to see the kind of trouble Gavin and his little brother will get into, and I have a feeling I'm going to have my hands full with these two, but I seriously could not be happier.

I can't wait to see the brother relationship that they'll have.
I'm more familiar with sister relationships, there aren't as many boys in my family (or Aaron's) as there are girls. So it will actually be kind of a new experience!

I'm already so anxious to meet this little boy, snuggle him, and give him a million kisses just like I do his big brother!

Today is also me and Aaron's anniversary, so it was a fantastic present to find out this news today!

I have one very FULL heart!
Thank you Lord

...a 20 week baby bump post to come...

PREGNANCY - 18 weeks with baby #2

This is the best belly photo I can do... I know, not impressive.
We were on vacation for the last week, and the belly picture
may have been forgotten! oops! So this will have to do...

How far along: 18 weeks

Gender: finding out at 20 weeks (eeeeeek only 2 more weeks!!!)

Best moment this week: Feeling MOVEMENT!!! ...and a lot of it! Aaron has also been able to feel some kicks too, which is always really fun to see the shock and excitement on his face when he first gets to feel some of the baby's movement! I started to feel movement, initial twitches, at right about 17 weeks...maybe a few days before. I would only feel it if I was laying down on my back. Within this past week, the movement has definitely gotten stronger, but I still really only feel it if I'm sitting or laying down. I LOVE feeling those movements, it's one of my absolute favorite parts about pregnancy!

Cravings: Banana pancakes

Looking forward to: Finding out gender in a couple weeks! I CAN NOT believe we are already almost halfway through this pregnancy. It's flying by crazy fast!!!

On a side note- and totally UNpregnancy related...
we had a really great vacation! We stayed up in Northern Wisconsin on a lake for a week- so fun! But not very relaxing... an almost 2 year old really changes the dynamics of a so called "vacation"... ;)
It was a good, and probably much needed break from the realities of real life lately... since we are busy with work at Aaron's office, and moving into our new house really soon.. we have had such a busy last couple months!
There's something about spending time on a lake that helps you unwind...
and it was much needed!

PREGNANCY - 15 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 15 weeks

Gender: finding out at 20 weeks

Best moment this week: I can't say that I feel actual movement yet, still haven't had those first flutters. But I can definitely feel when the baby is stretching out or changing position... I can feel it pushing out, and if I feel my belly with my hand, I can feel a super hard spot... a head or butt, or something! So that's been fun, and should hopefully get me by until I can actually feel some real movements in there!

Worst moment this week: I got my dreaded, first sunburn of the year. Clearly, my skin is way more sensitive when I'm pregnant, because I wasn't out in the sun for long, but my poor skin fried. So bad. So painful. So not letting it ever happen again.

Cravings: Still really craving veggies, mostly raw broccoli and dip. Pineapple has also been a recent favorite of mine lately.

Looking forward to: Feeling movement! Ugh I can't wait to feel those little flutters and movements!

PREGNANCY - 14 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 14 weeks

Gender: finding out at 20 weeks

Total weight gain so far: 0.4 lbs as of last week at my doctor appointment.

Maternity clothes: JUST starting to bust out the maternity tops...

Sleep: I have been sleeping AWESOME!!! We've also been stupid busy the past 2 weeks... so that might be why...

Best moment this week: About 2 weeks ago we bought a new house!!...which means a few days later we listed our house (for sale by owner)! We just accepted an offer yesterday, and officially sold our house!!!! The best part about that, is the most stressful part is over!! Hallelujah!!

Worst moment this week: Gavin has been super cranky the past few days. Just super irritable, and it couldn't have come at a worse time, with the craziness and stress of trying to sell the house/do house showings, and on top of that, just being exhausted still from pregnancy... it's been a pretty tough week. But we're trying to focus on the positive, and super exciting things going on right now, instead of focusing on how crazy this crabby toddler is driving us......

Cravings: Broccoli and dill dip, and veggies in general.

Looking forward to: A relaxing weekend, most likely spent poolside, trying to unwind from a crazy past two weeks!!!

PREGNANCY - 12 Weeks with baby #2

How far along: 12 weeks

Gender: ????

Weight gain: Won't know until next doctor appointment... I don't have a scale at home! But holy ****, my belly popped so early!!! I seriously was not this big with Gavin until like 16-17 weeks! I can't even suck it in anymore- so there's just no more hiding this thing unless I can find some super loose, flowy tops!

Sleep: This past week has been weird... I've had super vivid dreams, 3 or 4 a night, and I wake up after each one. It's super random... not sure if I can blame it on hormones or not, but either way it's strange, and I haven't been sleeping as good as I had been the past couple weeks.

Looking forward to: FINALLY TELLING EVERYONE!!!! My next doctor appointment is in one week, so we're waiting until after that appointment to tell everyone. :)

PREGNANCY - 11 Weeks with baby #2

How far along: 11 weeks

Gender: ????

Weight gain: Don't know because we don't have a scale at home and I never weigh myself! Guess I'll find out at our next appointment :)

Maternity clothes: For sure. Maternity pants... still haven't busted out the maternity tops yet though.

Sleep: I've actually had good sleep this last week- I've been really tired lately and have totally been taking advantage of Gavin's nap time in the afternoon... sneaking in some little naps myself!

Miss anything: We've had some really nice weather lately, and I really missed being able to crack open a Red's...  :(

Looking forward to: Still anxiously awaiting our next doctor appointment. I also really can't wait to be able to spill the beans and tell people! Especially since this belly is becoming quite tricky to hide...

PREGNANCY - 10 Weeks with Baby #2

How far along: 10 weeks

Gender: won't know until 20 weeks

Weight gain: None yet ...and won't know until our next doctor appointment because I DO NOT weight myself at home. I really don't worry about weight, I try to stay active and eat healthy, and I don't worry about the number on the scale!

Maternity clothes: My belly popped so early this time around! By 8 weeks my stomach was popping out enough that my regular jeans were no longer an option. I slightly feared twins!!... I resorted to either sweat pants, my one pair of maternity leggings, or yoga pants (which were all fine by me) ;) I have SO missed maternity clothes! Sooooo comfy! I haven't busted out the maternity shirts yet, because I have enough flowy tops that should get me through for awhile.

Sleep: Sleep during this first trimester hasn't been so great - but most of that can be attributed to the big brother Gavin, who reverted back to being a not so great sleeper. I find that throughout the night my low back gets sore, so I've already been using a big ol' pillow propped in-between my legs, and that seems to help.

Best moment so far: Our first doctor appointment (at 9 weeks) and that first ultrasound! I LOVE all of our baby appointments! It's always so crazy to see this tiny little baby in there on that ultrasound screen for the first time! In the first trimester it's so weird for me, because besides the nausea, it just doesn't seem like I'm pregnant. You're belly seems mostly just bloated, and you don't feel any baby movements, so it just never seems very real until that first appointment. To finally see that itsy-bitsy baby in there, it's such a wonderful, exciting feeling! OH, and of course, hearing that little heart beat - literally nothing better than that sound.

Worst moment so far: Overall just the nausea. It kicked in around week 5, and would start around 1-2pm every day. Then at about week 6 it would hit me by mid-morning every day. I would feel so nauseous, I constantly felt like I had to puke- but I never actually did. I would have to force myself to eat, even just tiny snacks like crackers. Breakfasts were my main source of nutrition for those few weeks!! By week 8, I noticed my nausea would come and go...I would feel good for a couple days, and then the next few days would be HORRIBLE, then I would feel good again for a couple days, and then the nausea would come back worse than ever! That nasty little cycle lasted about 2 weeks. Then by week 10, I noticed I would feel really good throughout the day, I could eat normal and there was really no nausea, but then it would usually hit me after dinner, around 7ish.

Miss anything: I miss Gavin being able to crawl all over me, rough house and wrestle, and not having to worry about it! Now I'm so careful when he's climbing on me, because I'm so protective of the little baby bump!

Cravings: I haven't had any real crazy cravings, it's been more like only one thing will sound good for a meal. From about weeks 5-7 the only thing that ever sounded good was Panera Bread's chicken caesar salad and creamy chicken wild rice soup. I don't even want to know how many times we ordered take out from them throughout that time-frame ... I crave salads a lot.

Aversions: From about week 5-8, I could not drink plain water, which is crazy for me, because I usually drink so much water every day! Just all of a sudden I couldn't drink just water, I had to mix fruit in it. Around week 8 that went away, and I could drink plain water just fine (so weird). The one thing that almost makes me sick to even think about, is bacon. Even turkey bacon, which I like better than regular bacon, I just can't do it anymore... even the smell makes me feel sick. I've noticed meats, like chicken and beef just doesn't usually sound good to me, which is so crazy because we usually eat chicken at least 3-4 times a week! So it's been hard trying to have a healthy, well balanced diet when the normal things we eat, just won't sound good.

Sickness: Since I already explained most of that above, I'll compare this pregnancy to when I was pregnant with Gavin. With Gavin, from 6-12 weeks I was nauseous every day like clockwork from 4pm until I went to bed. I would feel so nauseous, I constantly felt like I would have to throw up, but I never actually did. At week 12, I felt good for 3 days, so I was all happy thinking that the sickness was over...then it hit me again, for about 4 days, and by week 13 it went away and stayed away!! Woo Hoo! This time around, I was sick a lot more during the day than I was with Gavin. I've also noticed my sickness started to ease up around week 9, and was totally gone around week 10.

Looking forward to: Our next doctor appointment and hearing the heartbeat... it never gets old and I'm always anxiously awaiting our next baby appointment :)
